Article 1 - Slovenia
From 6 November to 17 November 2023, the Grm Agricultural High School and the Biotechnical High School, in particular students from different courses: Biotechnical High School, Conservation Technician, Agricultural Technician, Horticultural Technician, Gardener and Florist, tested the online game developed by partners from 4 countries as part of the Erasmus+ Themis project. The participants from Spain, France, Turkey and Slovenia worked on 24 different topics on protecting and preserving a clean environment, reducing consumption and other actors that cause pollution.
In Novo mesto, 130 students and 5 teachers took part in the tests. We tested 10 topics: green energy, invasive species, agriculture, key components of the green economy, zero waste, circular economy, green economy, biodiversity, economic growth issues and slow fashion.
The students had a lot of fun completing the tasks. They were a little embarrassed to understand some of the technical terms, but otherwise there were no complications.
During the research, we realised that people in general are big consumers. We often buy things that we do not need at all or only to a very limited extent and that are not essential for survival, but only serve to satisfy our desires. In this way, we are all responsible for environmental problems. Unfortunately, there will be no change for the better unless we all do our part to protect the environment. Young people are well aware of this. The game we have tested will certainly encourage children to take an active role in protecting the environment.
